2023-2024 VCHS Concert Auditions

Concert Ensemble Auditions are upcoming for ensemble selection, chair placement in both groups, and grading. 

 

• The Flipgrid Audition Window: https://flip.com/bd19957e

  • Recordings may be done using the Flip Grid camera OR you may upload from a different recording device (phone, ipad, etc.). Please have all parts of the audition in ONE video.

• Music Excerpts are located on Flipgrid but also copies are available in the HS Band Room. Please be aware of the section that are part of the audition, not all the excerpt. 

 

Audition Videos will be due by Tuesday, Dec. 12th @ 3pm. They will be based and assessed on the following criteria:

Winds/Brass

Scales: 

• Scale 1: 5pts

• Scale 2: 5pts

• Chromatic Scale: 10pts

Excerpts:

• Tone: 10pts

• Rhythmic Accuracy: 10pts

• Note Accuracy: 10pts

• Articulations: 10pts

Total= 60pts

Percussion

• Timpani: 20pts

• Mallets: 20pts

• Snare: 20pts

Total= 60pts
